The Adratic sea

My plans have changed a little. I will not make it to Palermo, but cross from the east coast to the west coast at Foggia. From there i'll go to Vesuvio, Napoli, Amalfi and that area.
Italy is hot, hot, hot... Yesterday was 38 celsius (100 f)to day is a bit cooler. Trafic is not too bad and the Italians very nice.

At the moment i'm just outside Pescara and i'll be driving a few hours before finding a nice Albergo.

Somewhere north of Pescara, it's hot.

Somewhere in the Dollomits.

On my way down Grossglockner my back brakes got so hot that they stopped working ... witch is not a good thing coming down at pass. After about 10 min the oil was cooled enough to continiue. But through the Dollomits i took the walleys. (My brakes are fine now... as long as i don't over use them... will try to find at place where they have time to do a quick oil change)

Lokking down at the roads i just cam up from.

At the north entrance of Grossglockner pass.

A view somewhere in Bavaria

There was close to 200 V-Strom bikes to the ralley in Altrictenau. 7 came from Denmark, with 8 persons.

Rest and V-Strom ralley in Bavaria

Have been resting in Altritenau. Found a internetcafe in the nearby city, Waldkirchen, but i forgot my cable for the camara, so no pictures this time.
Did not go to Pragh, but spend a night in Hradeck Kralove in Czeck rep. Poland was farely easy to drive through, but Czeck was irritating with there signs. Made many wrong turns, and it didént make it easyer that it was raining all thursday. but i made it to the ralley.
Tommorow i´ll drive towards Venice. i´ll just pass it this time. From Venice i´ll drive down the east coast. Passing the alps will proberly go over Großglockner. Same pass as last year. But it´s more or less the shortest route from here to Venice.

I made it to Bialystock, and the day after i was in Wazawa. To day i'll by heading to Pragh and then thursday i'm at the V-Strom ralley in Altreitenau in Germany. I'll tell you some storyes when i'm at the Ralley. I'll bee resting for 2 day's so i shout be able to type a few lines.

ps. the chrased truck acceident had happend a few minutes before i passed. The white truck had chrased into another truck. dont think the driver was in very good shape... It makes you think ekstra about taking care in the Polisch trafik...

Dag 3. Gdansk. Saa naaede jeg helt af Pommern til :-)

Ready to leave Kjeld Langes gade. It's Smilla, Kristoffers doughter, standing to the left. They came to say bye.
Helt ad Pommern til.. The first two days on the road have been great. I'm in Gdansk right now, and i'll be heading towards Bialystock in an hour or soo. From Stettin to Gdansk i took route 10 and 20, and today i'll find E77 to Ostroda, then route 16 to Augustow and route 8 to Bialystock. Unfourtunatly it seems like it's going to rain to day and to morrow, right now it's just cloudy so we'll see if i get wet or what... The roads are farely ok so i don't see a problem in a litle rain. As is i don't do much seightseeing once i check in to a hotel. I'm simply too tyred and i prefer to get up early to hit the road. The city of Gdansk seems like a very nice city to hang out in for a few days, there is a very nice old city center. very touristy and hotel prices high. Had to drive around a bit before i found a Novotel and ended up paying 350 Zl, witch is duble up for what i payed in Stettin... Hope i'll find cheaper deals for the rest of Poland.
Trying hard to memorise my first Polisch word, Gin'djuvjae, witch is thank you. It brings out a smile every time this litle mc tourist makes the effort to say it :-)
